Hi I'm Gemma, a freelance copy and content writer that wants to help your business to thrive in these challenging times.
Stories are a fantastic tool when it comes to marketing a business so I'll take your stories and transform them into words that will connect to your ideal client.
Before making copywriting my main job, I was a mortgage underwriter for 11 years so I'm a stickler when it comes to attention to detail. I know how important it is to get things right so I make sure that every piece of content I create is accurate and conforms with any rules that you have to follow.
Despite this, I’m mostly known for my conversational writing style which I use to tell powerful stories that connect with audiences and help businesses stand out. At the end of the day, the people that buy your products and services are humans and not computers. They don’t want to read jargon that they don't understand. They want to know how you or your product can transform their lives in the language that they use every day and that’s why I take this approach to my writing.
But I'm not just a storyteller – I'm also a fantastic brainstormer. I love coming up with innovative ideas and working with clients to bring your vision to life - I fill notebooks with ideas and the number of times a client has pulled out a pen and paper on calls with me has been too numerous to count.
My approach is also very collaborative, and I always work closely with my clients to understand their unique needs and goals. I also enjoy sitting down with graphic designers, web developers, web designers, fellow copywriters, SEO and marketing experts to get the best results. For me, nothing is really off the table when it comes to creating the right words for your business.

What to expect when you work with me
If you've never worked with a copywriter before and aren't sure what to expect, here's my normal process:
We'll start with a call where I'll find out a bit more about you, your business, your project, your clients/customers and what you are looking for. It's also a chance for us to get to know each other to see if we are a good fit. I'll also offer some free tips and advice on marketing whilst we chat to give you a picture of what we can do and the results we could get.
Next, I'll send you a proposal with clear pricing and details of exactly what will be included on the project.
If you decide to go ahead, we'll have another, longer chat where we'll delve much deeper into the project, plan out the web pages or discuss content for the month ahead. I'll also request any access that will be needed.
You'll be initially sent an outline or content calendar, giving you an indication of what to expect and if any changes need to be made and then I'll start writing the first draft.
Once you've agreed to any revisions, the copy is all yours and I'll invoice (through Xero) for the remaining balance.
